Nourish the Ozarks

Nourish the Ozarks

Nourish the Ozarks empowers farmers and enriches communities by providing local food to the community.  This program distributes free, locally grown food to communities in need. Through a collaboration with Springfield Community Gardens and other community partners, CPO is bridging the gap between farmers and underserved communities by purchasing fresh food directly from farmers in our region and distributing it in communities lacking access to high-quality, nutritious food. This innovative program aims to build a strong, sustainable local and regional food system by purchasing foods directly from local farmers while ensuring that communities have access to nourishing and locally sourced food options, regardless of their income. The program will serve 17 counties in Southern Missouri by distributing a range of local food products including meat, poultry, dairy, eggs, and produce.   This program is funded through the USDA Cooperative Agreement Local Food Purchase Assistance Grant.

How it Works

We bridge the gap between farmers and underserved communities by purchasing directly from the farmers and then distributing fresh, local food into the community.

Sustainable Impact

By sourcing directly from local farmers, we are providing them with a platform to thrive and contribute to their communities while making a sustainable living.

Our Collaborative Approach

In collaboration with Springfield Community Gardens and through CPO’s food collaborative, we’re uniting forces to strengthen the impact of our mission. Together, we’re sowing the seeds of change for a brighter future.
